MC Henry Campion commenced the evening with John Denver’s Goodbye Again” before inviting Jonathan Klein to the stage.  He sang Buddy Holly’s “Everyday”,  Donovan’s “Sunshine Superman” and a one of his own, “Five More Minutes In Paradise”.

Next up was Mike Cole. On his accordion he played two morris tunes; “Not For Joe” and “Castleton Garland Dance”, and sang “Freight Train” by Elizabeth Cotten and the shanty “South Australia”.

Following Mike was our special guest: Southampton based singer/songwriter Jim Chorley.

Jim sang a selection of his own songs; “After The Rain”, “Nearly New”, “Let It In”, “Secrets And Dreams”, “Hold Me In Your Arms”, and “The Stars And The Moon”.

After the break and raffle, Henry sang James Taylor’s “Fire And Rain”, “Nothing More” by Sandy Denny, and Dylan’s “It Ain’t Me Babe”. Henry then introduced Paul Taylor. He performed two self –penned songs, a blues and “If I Knew”, and “Count On Me”, a hit for Bruno Mars.

‘Mississippi’ Bob Long then took to the stage. He sang Robert Johnson’s “Crossroad Blues”, Memphis Minnie’s “Hoodoo Lady” and “Pea Vine Blues” by Charley Patton.

And finally, the return of our special guest for his second set.  Jim sang “Honest And True”, the title track of his latest EP (currently sold out!), “Trying To Find Love”, “Land Of Sweet Heather And Fern”, “Painting Circles In The Corn”, “The Falling Kind”, “Stake No Claim” and a great sing-a-long shanty to finish the evening,“Pull It Up Boys”.

A lovely evening. Brilliant songs. Great audience. Jonathan won the wine again!
